Acne mostly affects your face, but body acne is also possible. Body acne usually happens on the legs, chest, back and spine. It is common in teenagers since the hormonal changes during puberty cause changes in the skin, including an increase in oil production.

The simplest method to treat body acne is to keep the skin clean and freed from oil. You can use a mild, water-based skin cleanser that doesn't clog pores. You may also use an exfoliant that takes out dead skin cells and helps keep the pores open and drained.

You can treat body acne using various topical medications available over-the-counter. Benzoyl peroxide helps dry up oil and kill bacteria. Acetone helps dry out the skin. A combination of resorcinol and sulfur reduces oil and prevents pores from blocking. Salicylic acid is available in many antiacne shower gels. These gels may be used like soap and make it easy to apply the medication on your back and legs. In addition, topical antibiotics, such as erythromycin, clindamycin and tetracycline are available that can be applied immediately to areas with lesions.

You can use oral antibiotics by the prescription of a doctor if topical medicines are unable to treat body acne. Oral antibiotics can be very effective because they're delivered directly below the surface of the skin. They include erythromycin and tetracycline. If you can effectively use oral contraceptives to control body acne.

You can manage your body acne by following a healthful way of life. This includes exercise, diet control and a strict cleanliness regimen. Regular exercise helps build your immune system. It also helps eliminate harmful toxins from your body.

An ideal anti acne diet would include at least 5 platefuls of fresh fruits and vegetables every day. They act as antioxidants and also improve the immunological system. Greasy foods and refined sugars should be avoided as much as practical as they may harm the skin. Drinking ten glasses of water a day will also help in flushing out the poisons present in the body.

As for your skin, you need to wash it with cleansers at least twice a day and should avoid the use of oil based creams and moisturizers. Also, you need to ideally go for water based and hypoallergenic cosmetics which are oil free. Desist from picking at your acne as it may cause further infection and scarring.

Along with all this, you need to understand that body acne is harder to treat in comparison to facial acne. It requires different acne products in comparison to those working for facial acne. You can't go on to use the same acne products to treat body acne. However at the same time it is very much treatable and , you need not worry about it!
